Survival Rates

Survival rates of Osteosarcma depends on the grading of the tumour and stage of the cancer however currently, the estimated 5-year survival for patients with Osteosarcoma is 65% compared with 15% in the early 1960s. The presence of metastasis at diagnosis has a major impact on patient survival. The estimated survival rate for patients with localized Osteosarcoma is about 75% compared to 30% for patients with metastatic disease. The location of the tumour and viability for surgery also impacts upon the imminent survival rates.
